Monday's Moment: So Lucky

I don't know if there's anything to be said, but I've been having a lot of moments lately. Those moments when you just want to squeeze your babies. I generally have that moment each time we drive passed the Children's Hospital, or see a commercial on television. Or when someone posts something on Facebook about a baby with a terminal diagnosis or a parent who isn't a parent at all is on the evening news.

And you look at your kids and you think, how did I get so lucky? And normally its quiet moments like this one, when Lock-a-Doodle slept longer then normal during his nap and it was time for dinner. I went in to wake him and he was sleeping so soundly.

Friday Freebie: Chore Chart

So I've been considering giving my three-year-old a bit more responsibility around the house. He's still making me change his diaper, I might as well making him clean up the table! He really needs to pull his own weight around here!

Seriously though, I think chores are important and if I start them early enough, maybe he'll never remember a time when he didn't have to do chores. And maybe then he won't complain that he has to do chores.

Yeah, that won't happen.

Regardless, I've created some graphics that can be used in a chore chart. I think I might put this on the fridge and cut out the check mark boxes and make them magnets and he can put his magnet on the chores he has completed that day. It is a work in progress. I'd love to see how you use these!

Sick Again!

No Friday Freebie and no Monday moment...just one sick momma.

Where I wish I was right now.

I'll be back at it this week (I hope!) and you'll have your Friday freebie and hopefully some new print designs as well. I have two charity silent auctions to prepare for and I have two weeks to get prints in the mail for them!

Much to do! Life does not have a pause button unfortunately. This reminds me a little of that finals week I spent with strep throat, a 104 degree temperature and two guache paintings to complete. Ug, what a horrible week that was!

So in hindsight, I'm doing better than that!

Monday's Moment: Caramel Apple Shake

Once again, Monday's Moment is on Tuesday!

Yeah, a salad. I ate a salad! Actual raw vegetables.

Anyone who knows me also knows I hate vegetables. I think its mostly a texture thing but I just can't stand it. (Except cucumbers, I think they just taste gross!) My mom may still remember the carrot incident. I tried to swallow one whole to avoid chewing it and ended up spewing milk all over the table in a dramatic protest.

State Love

State pride has been all the rage on Pinterest and Etsy lately and I decided to get in on the action. I designed these last week.

Some love for my Canadian friends.
I also brainstormed some ways you could use these prints together. This one below represents my hubby and me, "We met, He asked, We married." Another one I came up with was "Her home, His home, Their home." If you travel or have moved many times, you could add addresses or dates for each of those places you lived/visited. I love the idea of the "Locally Grown" with the state your babies were born in their rooms/nurseries. There are many more possibilities!

Loved this idea. There's so many variations.

Monday's Moment

The family all went out to a really awesome park this weekend, Laithan calls it "The Farm" and we took some family photos. I'm trying to stay on top of my Christmas cards this year. My goal is to have them in the mail end of November this year!

And I got this shot:

And that's pretty much my moment right there. My whole world in one picture.
